View of St John's Church from St John's Close It is our desire to be a church of ordinary people in which everyone feels welcomed and accepted and finds a place of belonging and fulfilment. We have found God's love and care for us and we want to pass it on to others in our community, friendship groups and beyond.

Sunday is a time when we come together for worship and teaching for adults, young people and children alike with each group having their own time together.

Currently, we are in the process of transitioning to being a cell based church. We call these cells or small groups '2:42 Groups' which form the heart of our church life and we meet together for food and fun, bible study, worship and prayer. We seek to be outward looking - each group has its own particular interests and focus. As a church we place a high value on worship, the ministry of Word and Spirit, friendship and reaching out with the love of Jesus.
We are an Anglican church working in partnership with St Luke’s Church, and with them we are linked to New Wine Networks – an interdenominational network of congregations seeking the renewing of the Holy Spirit in the church and society.

I hope you enjoy this website, reading about the different parts that make up the St John's Church Community. If you are ever in Colchester, I hope that you will join us in worship.
